I don't know about generous, but they are smart in their own way. I have for a while now made my peace with rats and any other creature we humans have called 'pests'. I now view them as really smart creatures who have successfully adapted to us despite our spending billions of dollars eradicating them. These creatures are only doing what they need to survive being with us and a lot of us hate them for it. Well, I am glad I found your site. Cheers!
Here in The Netherlands I read about this too. And it is as you say: "I've known this for years!" I don't need tests to prove the obvious. But maybe this will help to put an end to cruelty towards rats. They are intelligent creatures, they can suffer, they feel emotions. They should be treated with love and respect.
