I was contacted this week by a rat rescue asking if I would give an old fellow (he's 2 years old) a retirement home and, against my better judgement, I said yes. I'm sure I have a post on my blog that said no more rats. lol I picked-up Engels last night and he is so sweet and friendly! But he is showing signs of hind leg degeneration that will require a vet visit. I think it's so sad when old pets are given up for adoption, especially if they were with their previous human companion all their lives. Anyway, I'll give Engels a happy old age.

My two babies are getting older, and it makes me so sad to think about what it would be like for them to have to change homes in their old age. They don't even like when they're lunch is 5 minutes late!
He is so cute, glad he's in good hands.
He looks like my Neo. I am glad he can live out his golden years with you.
So sad when an old rat is giving up for adoption. My oldies would certainly disagree. Engels, however, is in very good hands now and I hope he will have a wonderful time with you and the crew. And although you wrote earlier "no more rats" it is very easy to understand that you could not keep that promise! ;)

Thank you...from me and on behalf of Engels. :-)
I'm sorry I'm so late to see this, but a big WELCOME to Engels. He's a beautiful boy!
