Byron

I have a very sad feeling that my beloved squishy boy, Byron, doesn’t have much time left. His health has deteriorated considerably these past two days. He sleeps a lot more, is eating a lot less (which is a huge change because he LOVED food), is not interested in play-time, and he is having great difficulty with his back legs. I will need to make an appointment with the vet a.s.a.p. to discuss options for my sweet boy.

Here are pictures of Byron as a youngster; the pictures were taken the first evening I adopted him from a rat rescue.

Beck's Petrel Flies Back From Presumed Extinction

ScienceDaily (2008-03-08) -- A bird not seen for almost 80 years has been discovered in the Pacific to the delight of conservationists. Only two records of Beck's petrel existed previously, from the late 1920s when ornithologist Rollo Beck collected two of the tube-nosed seabirds on his quest for museum specimens from the region.

My Sweet Elders

Byron and Oliver are beginning to show signs of old age...**sigh** I wish rats had longer lifespans.

Oliver is still sounding congested but his appetite has greatly improved, which is a good sign.

Poor dogs...

...but at least they get a second chance.
